Lil Man is 5 months

I've basically missed month 1thru 4 so I apologize Bennet. Remember...you are the 3rd child.

Oh are you growing so fast. Please slow down. If it was legal and medically sound I would freeze you today! You are so charming!

Let's see if I can remember what he's doing now. He starts the day with a smile between 7:30 and 9 after a full nights sleep from being tucked in tightly around 9. Sometimes I need an extra few minutes of shut eye and leave him in his bed past his play time and he either get impatient and cries or just falls back asleep. Here is the sunshine this morning.

He is eating about 6 oz every 2.5 to 4 hours. Obviously this baby is NOT on a schedule. I threw those away after our strict days with Adde and Clare.  In the mornings after a night of no food he can only stretch it about 2.5 hours. Same thing in the evening after a full day of play. He weighs 16 pounds 13 oz and is in the 60th percentile for weight and height. His head is already big like his Daddy's so he's in the 72 percentile. He is also getting oatmeal for brunch and almost ready for some fruits and veggies. He is making all kinds of sounds, smiles, laughs, rolls over both ways....and HAS A TOOTH! It's one of the bottom front teeth and poke through a couple days ago. He has discovered his toes and still loves to be NAKED! He can be crying dramatically and if you take off his clothes and his diaper he will stop instantaneously and start kicking and smiling. Again, like his Daddy! ;)  He loves to play in his Johnny Jump, his jumper play center thingy and is beginning to hold his own bottle. He loves his sisters and oh do they love him. They are so helpful and will even feed him if he's in his bouncy chair.  Ok that's all I can think of and I'm falling asleep! Nighty night!

Back to Austin

Last weekend we headed back to Austin to spend some time with friends and take a few more pictures with sweet Shelley. We headed up Saturday morning to meet one of my close twin moms, her husband and their two silly girls but they were not able to make it due to a very sad tragedy in their family on Friday night. My friend lost her mom and her girls lost their grandma. We prayed for them all weekend and Adde & Clare just can't wait until the next time we can get together to share some laughs and smiles. On our way home Sunday, we were talking about them again and Adde told me "Mom, it will be ok...Jesus made a tear in the sky and let their Grandma right in." It was the sweetest thing.

So we had a slight change of plans and headed to Hula Hut for lunch.
Clare Bear Blue, Adde Patty Pink.

Lovely goofy faces they learned from their goofy cousins!

After a big lunch we went back to our favorite Mueller Park where the girls ran wild.

They would spin in this cup and get so dizzy they would fall over multiple times when they tried to get out and walk. It was hilarious.

Our cousins Adam and Kerry met us since they live right around the corner and played with the girls while we had a little visit.

After well needed naps, we took off to Matt's El Rancho for dinner with the Davis' and Zinda's....and I think EVERYONE else in Austin. Man that place is mad crazy!

Look at this handsome little Max. Jackson...we missed you dearly, but understand your parents needed a night out!

They got a night out, but not a night off as they had their hands full with our three.

Kind of a scary pic! Clare does this to every tortilla she eats!

A little balloon fight...thanks Missy for all the balloons. You did a great job at spoiling our girls!

Look at this priceless face!

Max's daddy joined in the fun too! Not sure Clare needed help putting those sweets in her mouth, but thank you Matt for making sure she didn't miss a bite. ;)

Max's Mom entertaining the girls! What an ADORABLE picture of all the blondies!

And Lil Man after we got back to the hotel. He missed out on the pics at dinner!

Drooling over that tooth that just came in...OH WAIT, I forgot to mention...HE HAS A TOOTH peeking through. It's sharp and coming in fast and furious. Poor Sophie was not happy as she decided to run away on Friday while Mommy was with all three kids in Houston. She jumped ship and hopefully found a new home without teeth.  Sorry Sophie, but we quickly replaced you as Bennet was lost without your head in his mouth!

Sunday we woke up and Sweet Shelley met us to take some more pictures...a little for her and a little for us. We love seeing her and can't wait to see some of the shots! After lunch we packed up and headed home!

GUESS WHAT...Bennet is 5 months old tomorrow! Where has the time gone? I'm going to try my best to do a Lil Man post since I have missed the past 5 month birthdays! Oh the 3rd child sure does get the shaft! Sorry my handsome little man. If you haven't figured it out, I'm typing this now because there is a really good chance that I won't get around to it tomorrow and at least I have this mention in here! We'll see!

Slobbery Sophie

Enjoy!

Would you say he LOVES this toy? That's an understatement! Maybe I should contact the company and ask if he could be their spokesperson? Every mother would want a Sophie for their baby if they saw how well it entertains them.

Strike!

Yes, I had one (yes only one) of these last weekend during our family outing at the Bowling alley. We took my niece to a birthday party there and then stuck around and bowled a game. The girls had a ball and have asked every day to go back.

Daddy explaining the rules of the game!

Assisting with the first bowl.

Then we asked for the ramp..which worked wonders for the girls! Bumpers were present too during the girls bowl. Here's Clare's bowling with Adde by her side. Adde was constantly trying to help her and give her pointers.

They clapped for each other every time.

and then they fought a little...as usual!

Back into the game!

Clare holding her breath as it rolls down the lane.

Bennet was a trooper too!

Drum roll please..... Maybe Daddy should have taken some of those pointers from Adde too!

If you remember...my last post was how my husband is always rubbing it in my face how he beats me at everything. If I can read that score correctly, I'm pretty sure I took the trophy home again. Well, not sure you get a trophy with just breaking 100 in a bowling game, but I'm pretty sure you get one from beating your husband by 30 points. Love you William...and just remember, YOU STARTED THIS! Here's to a fun day with the family and a really poor game of bowling. I even used to be in a league...whew we need some major practice!

A Great Start to 2012 and Happy Bday WRK

This might explain why we've both been sick and can't seem to kick these colds, etc...we've been going and going. I'm pretty sure William was on the verge of pneumonia and luckily caught it just in time and is slowly getting back to normal. Over the New Year's holiday, we were able to spend some time with great friends.

Thursday, we headed to dinner with some of our closest friends from EC since our good ole pal Jake was in town. It was great to see him and we missed his now soon-to-be bride. So... I guess it may have been our last supper together with Single Jake! Woohoo! That's an awesome thought and we are so excited to add another amazing person to our circle.

The crew minus one couple, two spouses, one soon-to-be spouse and nine kids.

The gals ...

The dudes ...

After a great dinner and a few drinks on Thursday evening, we headed into Houston on Friday to see another group of great friends. WE were so glad to be able make it and have a pre New Year's Eve party. Nothing like celebrating New Year's Eve two nights in a row...

The Sweet Marrs'...a Big Thanks for hosting us and for a Wonderfully Delicious dinner.

The Sweet Stevens' and hip hip horray...they are expecting!!!!!!!! We are thrilled to have another little one running around so we're not the only ones that show up to parties with baggage! HA! It's bitter sweet because they are moving to DC...but best wishes as it's an awesome career move for both of you!

And not sure what's going on here, but here we are!

The group minus one couple and our three kids. These guys are William's best friends from college minus Trav. Trav and Amy we missed you!

And we lucked out and got to see The Cumberworth's and CBE (coolest baby ever - my translation is cutest baby ever) that were in from Dubai. Thank you guys for staying up and waiting around on us so we could see all three of you! Sorry we were sooo late...you know how those boys are!
Me and Hillary...

After a pretty easy going night, we hopped up Saturday morning and headed back towards EC where we joined more friends out at a nearby ranch to celebrate New Year's and of course....William's Birthday!

We kept the tradition and did a little skeet shooting during the day....although the girls group has drastically decreased and it was only two of us this year! Congrats Jill for taking my money! :)!

Me and the hubby...and I won't mention any names, but between the two of us, the female in this picture took home the title AGAIN. Honey I love you, but you DON'T win at everything. And if I remember correctly, you didn't win at Bowling this weekend either. That post to come.  It was your birthday and I should have let you win, but you don't let it die and are constantly reminding me how I can't beat you at anything. Would you say we're just a little competitive? You do still hold your title at Ping Pong as you did kick my rear last night.

We cleaned up and got ready for a delicious meal. Our traditional prayer linked together.

The group of gals that brought in the new year together!

The two birthday peeps that always have a party on their birthday. I used to think a birthday on NYE would stink...but WRONG, they always have a party and I'm lucky if I get dinner and a cake on the day of mine!

Happy New Year! We couldn't have had a more wonderful weekend and we send a BIG THANK YOU to Gams and Pops who rang in the New Year with the ABC kids. They had fireworks and we didn't! I promise they had more fun with the both of you than they would have ever had with us! Thank you so so much for being here so William and I could be together with our friends.

Our traditional Midnight Mexican Hotdogs! I need to go run around the block from just looking at these again. They are oh so yummy and they sell them already made at Praseks! For many years we wrapped them ourselves and then Praseks started making them.
