This might explain why we've both been sick and can't seem to kick these colds, etc...we've been going and going. I'm pretty sure William was on the verge of pneumonia and luckily caught it just in time and is slowly getting back to normal. Over the New Year's holiday, we were able to spend some time with great friends.
Thursday, we headed to dinner with some of our closest friends from EC since our good ole pal Jake was in town. It was great to see him and we missed his now soon-to-be bride. So... I guess it may have been our last supper together with Single Jake! Woohoo! That's an awesome thought and we are so excited to add another amazing person to our circle.
The crew minus one couple, two spouses, one soon-to-be spouse and nine kids.
The gals ...
The dudes ...
After a great dinner and a few drinks on Thursday evening, we headed into Houston on Friday to see another group of great friends. WE were so glad to be able make it and have a pre New Year's Eve party. Nothing like celebrating New Year's Eve two nights in a row...
The Sweet Marrs'...a Big Thanks for hosting us and for a Wonderfully Delicious dinner.
The Sweet Stevens' and hip hip horray...they are expecting!!!!!!!! We are thrilled to have another little one running around so we're not the only ones that show up to parties with baggage! HA! It's bitter sweet because they are moving to DC...but best wishes as it's an awesome career move for both of you!
And not sure what's going on here, but here we are!
The group minus one couple and our three kids. These guys are William's best friends from college minus Trav. Trav and Amy we missed you!
And we lucked out and got to see The Cumberworth's and CBE (coolest baby ever - my translation is cutest baby ever) that were in from Dubai. Thank you guys for staying up and waiting around on us so we could see all three of you! Sorry we were sooo late...you know how those boys are!
Me and Hillary...
After a pretty easy going night, we hopped up Saturday morning and headed back towards EC where we joined more friends out at a nearby ranch to celebrate New Year's and of course....William's Birthday!
We kept the tradition and did a little skeet shooting during the day....although the girls group has drastically decreased and it was only two of us this year! Congrats Jill for taking my money! :)!
Me and the hubby...and I won't mention any names, but between the two of us, the female in this picture took home the title AGAIN. Honey I love you, but you DON'T win at everything. And if I remember correctly, you didn't win at Bowling this weekend either. That post to come. It was your birthday and I should have let you win, but you don't let it die and are constantly reminding me how I can't beat you at anything. Would you say we're just a little competitive? You do still hold your title at Ping Pong as you did kick my rear last night.
We cleaned up and got ready for a delicious meal. Our traditional prayer linked together.
The group of gals that brought in the new year together!
The two birthday peeps that always have a party on their birthday. I used to think a birthday on NYE would stink...but WRONG, they always have a party and I'm lucky if I get dinner and a cake on the day of mine!
Happy New Year! We couldn't have had a more wonderful weekend and we send a BIG THANK YOU to Gams and Pops who rang in the New Year with the ABC kids. They had fireworks and we didn't! I promise they had more fun with the both of you than they would have ever had with us! Thank you so so much for being here so William and I could be together with our friends.
Our traditional Midnight Mexican Hotdogs! I need to go run around the block from just looking at these again. They are oh so yummy and they sell them already made at
Praseks! For many years we wrapped them ourselves and then Praseks started making them.
